The Ergebirge Palace is proud to announce that we have crafted, delivered and set up the first giant German Erzgebirge pyramid in the USA.
During Christmas time one can see extra large outdoor Christmas pyramids on quite a few German Christmas fairs and other public places.
Since November 2009 the city of Fredericksburg Texas now owns the first of its kind in the USA. It measures 8 meters (26 ft.) and has 5 levels. Each level / tier carries a number of handcrafted wooden figurines such as nutcrackers, santas or nativity scene. The Christmas pyramid is turned by an electric motor.
The Fredericksburg XXL Christmas pyramid was entirely made in the German Erzgebirge. The total production time was 3 months and it was shipped with a 20 ft container over the ocean.
We are proud of the pyramid and wish the city of Fredericksburg and all tourists a wonderful Christmas time for many years to come with their original German Christmas pyramid.

The Erzgebirge music boxes have become very popular over the last 20 years. Although other Erzgebirge items like the Christmas pyramid and the nutcracker are more popular, the music boxes have become an important part of Erzgebirge Folk Art. Most workshops have added music boxes to their range of products and you can find a large number of wooden music boxes in the Erzgebirge-palace.
Many customers
contact us because we do not state what kind of melody a specific music box plays. On some music boxes we have this information but most do not have any information about the melody. The reason for this is that the melody is subject to change very often. There are only a very few companies in the world that still make high quality musical movements. Those companies always make very large numbers of musical movements with the same melody. In order to be able to continuously craft music boxes the Erzgebirge workshops sometimes have to take what’s available at certain moment. They will always be able to get a Christmas melody for a Christmas theme music box, but which exact melody they will get depends on what is just produced by the manufacturer of the musical movements. We decided to better not state any melody instead of mentioning a melody that the music box might not be playing when a customer receives the music box. Many new items by Christian Ulbricht and KWO Olbernhau have been added to the Erzgebirge Palace. We have added over 100 new 2009 items to our web shop. Christian Ulbricht offers many new Nutcrackers and Incense Smokers to their range of products. Among them are 22 new large Nutcrackers. Most popular Christian Ulbricht theme is Santa Claus. Ulbricht has added many new Santa Clauses like a Wildlife Santa, Buffalo Santa and Santa in Nightshirt. All are made in the style of the very popular Ulbricht large nutcracker series (over 40 cm / 16 inches). Even more incense smoker men have been added. Christian Ulbricht has extended their popular Gnome Smoker Collectors Series with 8 new models. The KWO Olbernhau workshop has designed several new smokers. Most of them are the popular edge stool smoker figurines that can sit anywhere in the room instead of the regular standing figurines. Among the new models are 3 native Indians: Indian, Squaw and Indian chief.

The Erzgebirge Palace has added the small family owned workshp Baumann. The Baumann company has specialized in Candle Arches / Schwibbogen and Christmas Pyramids. Lovers of fretsaw works will be particularly impressed by the Baumann items. All together we have added 120 items made by Baumann. This includes about 40 Christmas Pyramids and 30 Lightarches / Schwibbogen. The exclusive Christmas Pyramids can be individually configured with different figurine sets. The figurine sets are available with Nativity figurines, Forest figurines and Miner figurines.

the Seiffener Volkskunst has launched about 20 new incense smokers with their favorite Ball-Figure design. We have added the funny new smokers. Also we have added 3 new classical Seiffener Volkskunst nutcrackers.

We have added the new 2008 spring edition by KWO Olbernhau. KWO will most likely launch more new designs during the year 2008. Among the approx. 30 new items are many incense smokers and nutcrackers in various desgns. The highlight is the new handmade Horse & Carriage with an Edge stool smoker as coachman. The Horse & Carriage will be individually made after an order. One look at this item shows how capable the KWO workshop is.

We have added the new 2008 Christian Ulbricht editions. Most of the new nutcrackers and incense smokers we have allready seen at the popular Ambiente fair in Frankfurt. We are very confident that the new Ulbricht nutcrackers and smokers will be even more succesfull than the models of the past. In total Ulbricht has added about 100 new models to his range. About 50 nutcrackers and 50 smokermen. The nutcrackers show the very succesful basic design elements of the 2006 and 2007 editions and also show how much detail Original Erzgebirge nutcrackers have. Many of the new incense smokers expand the succesfull Gnome series that started in 2006. The Ulbricht Gnome series smokers are among the most popular items from the Erzgebirge.

We have added all the new Steinbach 2008 nutcrackers and incense smokermen. Steinbach has created 15 new nutcrackers and 3 new incense smokers fro 2008. Many collectors have allready been waiting for them.
