The Origin of the Pyramid goes all the way back to the 16^th century. In the 18^th century German Miners created Lichtergestelle (light-racks). They tied several wooden sticks together at the top and decorated them with candles. This was the forerunner of the Christmas tree and the elaborate Pyramids of today.
